Massage TherapyDeep Tissue / Sports Massage

Do you play a lot of sports? Are you all tied up in knots? Then this massage is for you. This massage is a more intensive form of Swedish massage that releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas. Due to the release of toxins during this massage, you may feel some discomfort and should feel better 2 days after your appointment.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage for Improved Immune System

Have you been coming down with lots of colds? Do you feel your immune system is not quite keeping up with your busy schedule? Then this massage is for you. Lymphatic system is responsible for having a strong immune system. When the lymph is not circulating productively through your body, your body cannot fight different viruses that are out there and you get sick, or get inflammation in your joints. Let our expert therapists give your immune system a boost.

Hot Stone Therapy Massage

Stones are placed on key energy points on the body, evoking an aura of warmth, while the deep penetrating heat from the stones is used to massage the body, relieving your muscles and allowing you to feel at ease.

prenatal Massage (Maternity)

Massage during pregnancy differs from a regular massage in a couple of ways. The biggest way it differs is that the person receiving the massage is pregnant, and therefore knowledge of pregnancy and the anatomy of a pregnant woman are very important. This means that positioning during a massage is critical to the safety and well-being of both the mother and the baby she is carrying. There are also parts of the body that should not be massaged.
The massage table will be set up so you will lie in a semi-reclining position. This is not only really comfortable, but safe for baby. Also you will turn from side to side to do your back and hips, there are body pillows, wedge pillows and extra padding to make you comfortable, Never use the tables with the whole cut out for your belly, these cause undo stress to your lower back, it may seem like a great idea, but it isn't.
The room setting for a pregnancy massage is much like a typical massage, the room will have low lightening, you will lie on a warm extra padded table. Soft music will be in the background to help you relax and drift off.
A questions we are often asked about massage is about the level of clothing one will wear. That is really between you and your therapist. Many moms choose to remove all of their clothing, though they are never uncovered, as they are always covered by the sheets. Some choose to wear their underwear or their bra and underwear. Whatever you choose to wear or remove is completely up to you and your comfort level.
Massage is beneficial for almost everyone. Even women carrying multiples babies can benefit greatly from massage. Massage done during the first trimester is not recommended.
Massage can also be useful for labor. The time to learn the techniques is while your pregnant before you go into labor. It is a great idea to take your partner or friend with you when you get your massage, any professional therapist will encourage this, they can show your partner many comfort measures he or she can use at home and will also explain why some techniques are unsafe. These tips will really help out when your in labor!

postpartum Massage (after child birth)

Postpartum massage is designed to help restore the body to its pre-pregnant condition. It also addresses the stress of carrying and caring for a newborn. It can speed the recovery by bringing relief of sore muscles and help the mother to relax more easily. Abdominal massage helps shrink the uterus and relieve subcutaneous scar tissue. Postpartum massage can benefit you in four ways:

1. You can take deeper diaphragmatic breaths to bring more oxygen to your cells.

2) Reduce tension in your ribs, neck and shoulder with trigger point therapy.

3) Decrease scar tissue in your pelvis to let you exercise those abdominal muscles more effectively. Helping that Transverse Abdominus to engage and get stronger.

4) Reduce tension and stress in your hips and lower back.

It may be given as early as 24 hours after delivery in a vaginal delivery but only with written permission from your doctor or midwife.

clinical deep tissue

Clinical Deep Tissue Massage is a much more specific approach to working with soft tissue dysfunction. This work combines elements of myofascial release, sports massage and trigger point work in order to address specific tissue damage and pain. The damage might be from any number or combination of causes such as trauma, strain and repetitive stress and the pain may be chronic or acute. The affected tissues can be muscles, tendons, cartilage, ligaments or fascia. The trigger points and/or scar tissue in these structures can cause referred pain and discomfort elsewhere in the body. By working these trigger points and breaking up the scar tissue, the referred pain can be diminished and the damaged tissues restored to health.

This treatment can benefit individuals with following conditions:

1. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - Numbing in your hands

2. Plantar Fasciatis

3. Chronic Lower Back Pain

HydrotherapyHydro Therapy Philosophy

Hydrotherapy soak is beneficial in 4 ways:

  1. The warm water will increase your blood circulation, warming the muscles to receive the massage.
  2. Detoxifying minerals will draw out the toxins from your body, for example: lactic acid.
  3. Aromatherapy oils in your soak will send signal to your brain via Olfactory nerves that it is time to relax.
  4. Our tubs have light therapy which will also send signal to the brain via optic nerves, that it is time to relax.

This way by the time you get on your treatment table, you are physically and mentally ready to receive the full benefits of your massage.
